the Star Festival (七夕)

Star Festival in Shitennoji

I went to Shitennouji to see the star festival (Tanabata Matsuri).

Because of the heavy rain my friend with whom I wanted to go there didn’t show up,

nevertheless I decided to go alone.

Like the Japanese do, I wrote my wish on a piece of paper and hung it on a bamboo branch.

I wandered around and when the night came,

I enjoyed the beautiful view of the illuminated temple buildings and pagodas.

There I bought a candle, wrote again my wish on it (better safe than sorry!)

and let it float on the water.

It’s secret!!
